Most of us want to look our best as we get older. There are some basic things you should do to not only keep your skin healthy, but also help keep your body from aging prematurely. Here are a few anti aging tips to keep you healthy and alert into your golden years.

 

Anti Aging Tip #1 – Eat a Balanced Diet

There is not enough that can be said for eating a healthy, balanced diet. Try to avoid eating processed foods or foods that are high in fat, sodium and sugar. Instead, eat whole foods that have not been processed, including a wide range of fruits and vegetables. Also, eat lots of lean proteins, like fish and chicken.

 

Anti Aging Tip #2 – Drink Lots of Water

 

It is said that human bodies are mostly made up of water. Drinking large amounts of water daily is a very healthy habit to develop if you do not do so already. You should drink at least eight 12 ounce glasses (or bottles) of water daily. However, avoid drinking excessively large amounts of water at one sitting. Contrary to popular belief, it is actually possible to overload your body if you drink too much water at one time, so space your water consumption out throughout the day.

 

Anti Aging Tip #3 – Get Regular Exercise

 

Regular exercise does not need to be overly excessive. Just getting an hour of exercise every day can keep your body healthy. If you take the time to walk throughout the day by parking a little farther out from the store, walking the stairs at work or walk around the house, you will find that you can get in an hour of exercise easily. Exercise keeps muscles toned and joints loose, preventing muscle atrophy and keeping bones strong and healthy.

 

Anti Aging Tip #4 – Avoid the Sun

 

While a little bit of sun on occasion can be a good way to receive healthy vitamin D for your skin, spending lots of time out in the sun can be extremely damaging. Even if your skin is naturally dark-completed, excessive exposure to UV sun rays can cause premature wrinkles and cause skin cancer. If you need to go out in the sun, apply a moisturizer with sun screen in it or wear protective clothing.

 

Anti Aging Tip #5 – Consider Taking Natural Hormones

 

One of the interesting things that have come out of recent research is the role of natural hormones in aging. Consider taking natural oestrogen or testosterone to replace hormones that naturally decline as part of the aging process. Testosterone will jump-start muscle density and vitality in men, and oestrogen can help women’s skin tone and feelings of well-being and balance.

 

There is no reason why you cannot be healthy and happy, even as you age. With the right anti aging approach, you can live a full, healthy life well into your old age.
